At Aqarios, we want to change how the world solves hard problems. We use quantum computing to tackle some of the most complex challenges companies face across industries. Join us and you'll work on technology that's still being figured out, in a setup that's flexible and gives you room to own what you do. Ideally you'd be with us in our Munich office, though remote within Germany works too.

Who we are

Aqarios exists to close the gap between quantum computing and problems companies actually need solved. Our aim is to make quantum genuinely useful for the hard, complex challenges that come up across industries. We work with large enterprises to do that, sometimes through Luna, our platform, and sometimes through solutions we build for a specific customer. We're a team of just over 10, spun out of LMU Munich's QAR-Lab. That means there's real academic depth behind what we do, paired with the day-to-day of shipping software that customers rely on.

What you'd work on

• Building and extending Luna's backend: REST APIs, the services behind them, and the infrastructure they run on
• Our stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, running on cloud infrastructure
• Writing code that other people can read and maintain. We do code reviews, run CI/CD, and stick to a sane Git workflow, and you'll be part of that from your first week
• Getting into DevOps where it's useful: containers, deployment pipelines, cloud environments
• The frontend too, if that's something you enjoy (optional) Because the team is small, you own real pieces of the platform. Your code matters and you'll see it in front of customers.

What we're looking for

• Python beyond the basics. You're comfortable with packaging, dependencies, virtual environments, and structuring code into something modular
• Experience working with others in Git: branches, pull requests, reviews
• A working mental model of how backends fit together. What an HTTP request is, why route handling and business logic live in different places, what an ORM does for you
• Nice to have: hands-on time with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, or async Python
• Some sense of what tests are for and how to write them
• Enrolled as a student (Werkstudent requirement) in CS, Physics, Maths, or something adjacent. Late Bachelor's or Master's is the sweet spot
• You ask questions when you're unsure and take feedback well. Admitting you don't know something is genuinely fine here
• Based in or near Munich, or elsewhere in Germany if you work remotely
